STARTTS - NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors

STARTTS provides culturally relevant psychological treatment and support, and community interventions to help people and communities heal the scars of refugee trauma and rebuild their lives in Australia. The LGBTIQA+ project, funded by WentWest, focuses on building understanding of specific issues faced by people with a refugee background who identify as members of the LGBTIQA+ community; including strengths, vulnerabilities and the risks experienced in their home countries, during the journey and resettling in Australia. We focus on foregrounding lived expertise, capacity strengthening, and skill building, Inclusive Practise training. Group-work and peer support.
